My CPU is suspiciously cool

Yeah it is safe, but it's kinda suspiciously cool isn't it? I heard that some people have 50°C stress at stock speeds while I have 40°C at OC.

oh yeah the temps are still totally wrong, but the overclock is reasonable so i'd say the actual temps are still fine.

So i have a FX-6300 and noticed something is odd. My cpu idle temps were 15°C and at first I was suprised and relaxed about it. But then when i stress tested it (3,5 GHz), the temps were around 20-25°C.

So I decided to overclock it to 3,9 GHz and do the stress test again. This time it was around 35-40°C and I was kinda worried.

Is it possible that the temps are wrong and something is malfunctioning because this is too cool for a overclocked CPU.

I use a mid tier Air Cooler.

your temp sensors may be malfunctioning. It's a 7 year old (?) cpu so it is very possible that the temp sensors may be wearing out.

Yeah that's what I thought too.

If your ambient temperature (temps in your room) is about minus 15 degrees, I could see this be plausible.. but I assume that is not the case XD

Check the temps with another program, like Speedfan or something

My room is kinda hot rn because it's summer xD, and i have tried other software and it shows the same temps.

Voltage? You might just have a hell of a gold sample.

Which one?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

You have either an incredibly good chip or your temp sensors are bad. I remember reading that the FX-series temp sensors weren't the best. I wouldn't worry too much, if the temps have been fine in the past they'll likely be fine for a while yet. It may be a good idea to adjust your fan curve, however. Or you could just leave it at a static RPM that you know won't allow it to overheat.

That's an F in the profile pic

1.825V

Not really sure but it's from cooler master. It only has 1 fan.

1.8 volts is...uh...insane? You may have outright broken a temp sensor, I can tell you right now that CPU is not running how it says it's running, either thermal throttle city or it's just melting.

Now 1.18 volts I could get

I did AIDA64 testing and it says it's not thermal throttling.

Right, it wouldn't throttle if it detected the wrong temp, kinda forgot about that one. Yeah that poor CPU though, what are the temps at stock settings?

Oh sorry my cpu volt is 1.28V but my CPU NB is at 1.8V. I read it wrong.

The temps are stock are 15°C at idle and 25°C at stress (3,5 GHz).

Now that's more like it. Ok so the CPU basically runs like normal with temps that are iffy.

Now I wonder, if we assume the temps are increased by the actual amount, going from 25 to 40 Celsius on stress temps would be pretty safe territory honestly.
