Hey guys, recently came across some decent deals on PC parts, so I swooped them up, but I'm actually curious what the resell value might be.

PCPartPicker doesn't really help me figure the value, so I thought I'd as LTT Comm what they think. :D

I got all of this for $150.

The final build.

To be clear. I'm not trying to sell this on here or anything, just discussing potential value.

You could probably sell that rig for $350 or $400 even. ITX is a bit of a special form factor and the Asus H81i plus is basically the go to itx board for no OC haswell.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

A far cry from $730 im afraid. Im not bassed in the US so couldnt comment on the actual used market price but i certainly wouldnt pay $730 in value for a system like that.

Its gunna have limited capability with only a hyperthreaded dual core and 4Gb RAM.

maybe $200, so u may be able to make some money out of it.

Pretty decent deal, I suspect that doubling it could be doable if you intend to resell without hurry.

Pre assembled, has a decent PSU and GPU for a budget machine, although I misread the ram and just noticed it has no SSD

So more like $250

wtf

Haswell is becoming very sought-after for one reason or another. The fact that this rig is a Mini-ITX rig really helps its case, too.

Ha, awesome, that's what I was kinda thinking $300-$400.

I have no intention on reselling it, but it always feels nice to know the value of your things. :D

Depending on where you are pre-assembled means very little. I've sold a lot of computers on craigslist and something like that would go for 100-200. The main things holding it back in my opinion are the case and the dual core low power cpu.

I'd put it around $250.

DDR3 is dirty-ho cheap. Like, the type of dirty ho you find two blocks east of the strip in Vegas. Before DDR4 prices took a nose-dive, Haswell was the absolute best platform you could find cheap RAM on. The same thing happened with DDR2 around 2014/2015, and DDR2 even had a bit of a resurgence when the price fixing shortages drove the price of DDR4 into the stratosphere not too long ago, taking DDR3 prices along for the ride.

With DDR4 and Ryzen 1000 prices as low as they are, there's absolutely no reason for anyone but true platform enthusiasts (looks at his G3258 system) to buy anything else for a budget build.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.
