Not sure which monitor yet and yeah I gues I had that in my other build. I’m kinda liking the idea of the 3900x tho

Do you mean you already have a B450 and a first or second gen Ryzen processor? If so, you could save yourself a good amount of money that can be better invested elsewhere in the build. Updating the bios for a Ryzen 3000 processor on a B450 board is not that hard to be honest. I definitely think you should consider it.

Ryzen build -  CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X Cooler: Corsair H115i Platinum RGB | GPU: RTX 2070 FE | RAM: 2x8GB Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB DDR4-3200MHz | PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA P2 750W | Motherboard: MSI X570 MEG Ace | Storage: Samsung 970 EVO 500 GB - Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200 RPM | Case: Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic

Intel build - CPU: i5-9600k @ 4.9 GHz - 1.28v Cooler: NZXT Kraken X62 rev 2 | GPU: GTX 980 Ti FE | RAM: 2x8GB Corsair Vengeace LPX DDR4-3200MHz | PSU: Corsair RM650x  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Ultra | Storage: Crucial MX500 500GB - Western Digital Blue 1TB 5400RPM | Case: NZXT H700 Black

No I don’t have any parts or anything. I will consider it, can you just make a couple of builds for me and then I’ll pick which one. I’d appreciate it so much dude

This is the best I can do, the CPU cooler is just the stock cooler which should do the job if you don't overclock the 3900X. However, this build is slightly unbalanced with a 3900X coupled with a 5700XT. I think you're better off going with the 3700X version or maybe even considering the 3600 for your budget as the 3600 has decent workstation performance.

The blower cooler on the 5700 XT is pretty crap as usual with AMD. The non ref coolers should hopefully be here in August but I haven't seen a definite date. They will probably cost a bit more anyway.

You would need to do a bios update with the Tomahawk.

Na I definitely don’t want the 3600. I would consider the 3700x but if I have 1200 budget I may aswell get the 3900x. I wouldn’t ever overclock anything because I don’t think I’d need to. The pc games I play aren’t demanding at all. Could I potentially get a different gpu as I know the 5700xt is loud

Sorry, I didnt realize my list did not show the price of the GPU, I had a US build and converted it into pounds, but those components are not available in the UK.

This is a good build. I'd recommend something like that, although you really need an SSD to work properly.

I would definitely get an SSD. Video editing on a PC without an SSD will be a terrible experience these days. Especially with 4K footage.

If you cannot afford this build, I would swap out the 3900X for a 3700X. 3700X is probably plenty for your needs. Very powerful CPU. 3900X is better, but not strictly necessary.

I think a good build with the 3900X will push you into 1300+ pounds territory. 3700X is fine if you cant afford that.

5700XT is a great card for the money, I would stick with that. Perhaps wait for custom cards to come out. Otherwise, the RTX 2060 Super is slower, but the same price.

No, it is not that easy. You need a 2000 series CPU to do it. Because you need to boot the system with a CPU in it to be able to update the BIOS at all. If you dont have access to a 2000 series CPU, better get the X570, or make sure you buy one that the manufacturer has updated from the factory (not sure if those exist (yet).

I’m abit torn between the 3700x and the 3900x? I could afford this build if I wanted to it’s just more than I wanted to spend. But it won’t leave me short at the end of the day. Would I have to do the bois thing with this build? Also one thing that’s putting me off with all these build is that the gpu is hot and loud. Can anything be done about that. So does this build have ssd?

You could update the cpu cooler, but I am referring to the blower cooler on the 5700 XT which is pants. If you don't mind a bit of noise and extra heat then it is cheaper than the 2070 Super which is it's direct competitor.

That video I linked shows you the procedure.

Right guys I’m finding it hard to now to get what’s what. There’s to many replies for me and I’m getting confused. I do appreciate everyones help. I’m tempted to get the 3900x because why not? It’s only couple hundred more expensive and if just means I won’t have to upgrade for longer. Would it be fine just to use the 5700xt despite of being hot? I can properly live with it being abit loud and noisey tbh, not the end of the world. Also i think I need the X570 motherboard because I don’t want to have to do that bois thing

Guys I’ve changed my mind. I have a budget of 1400 so can definitively go with the 3900x. Someone make me a build with the 3900x. I want the X570 motherboard as don’t want to deal with any bois stuff as it’s complicated and hassle for me. I also want some ssd to make video editing easier. If you can use a better gpu aswell to avoid the heat and noise from the 5700xt inside the budget that would be nice. Let me know what you guys can come up with.

much love to everyone helping out.

I understand it can be confusing, but all the builds that have been suggested really aren't that different.

OK here goes for your budget under 1400 pounds:

- 3900X

- x570 mobo (one of the cheapest I could find)

- RTX 2060 Super is a good card. The 2060 Super will be only a bit slower than the 5700XT, but not much. Also depends on the game, and you get some nice features like Ray Tracing support with Nvidia. If you are worried about noise, go for this one, no problem. EVGA makes great coolers and has great customer support.

- Fast ram 16GB 3600Mhz (can upgrade to 32GB down the line)

- Very Fast SSD 480GB

- 2TB HDD storage for larger files

- Decent power supply that doesnt break the bank

- Decent case (personal preference) that doesnt break the bank

I think you have done it then mate. Got the cpu I want and the gpu is still good. I don’t play high demanding games so that will be still be very good at fortnite and oldschool RuneScape. This also meets all my video editing needs. So am I right I’m saying I won’t have to do anything with the bois thing? That’s all sorted right?? If so this is the perfect build for me. Even managed to save me a little bit I can do 1400 if neccessary. The gpu is also quiet and cool so I’m happy, for when I’m grinding late night and need to be quiet.

Sure, if you only play Fortnite and Runescape, the 2060 super will be more than enough. Definitely don't spend more than 400 pounds on the GPU in that case.

Correct, no BIOS update needed, the X570 will work with the CPU out of the box.

What about this tho mate?

The RTX 2070 (regular, not super) and 2060 Super are nearly identical in performance, so get whichever is a better price I would say.

Hey guys so this is my new build I’m gonna purchase this weekend. Anyone see anything desperately wrong or anything that would be worse changing? Can’t increase the price tho. Also any recommendations for monitors around 150-200 pounds???? E7AE68B5-1628-48D1-92F9-0FE279F5075E.thumb.png.b07e029dfc8ac954d6f858bc6b2a7c6d.png

Na sorry mate. First of all I’m set once getting the 3900x. Second I don’t want the tomohawk because I don’t want to mess around with the bois thing, hence why I’ve gone for the X570. Finally, 610 on a gpu is stupid for me considering the only games I play is runescape and fortnite. The monitor is also outside my price range as I wanna focus most of my budget on the pc. Thanks tho, appreciate the help

no need, it's just making a usb, pressing a button and it all goes by itself, hence i chose the tomahawk specifically. no need for a bios kit of some kind
