When can we expect custom 5700XT cards?

I've recently bought all the parts for my new build including the 3600 today but debating on whether to hold out for custom 5700XT cards or just buy a blower card. I've been holding out for so long now i just want a PC lol.

damn, was really hoping it would be sooner than that. Guess i'll have to wait it out but most of my parts might be fucked on the return window, hopefully none of the parts are faulty so i dont have to worry.

Aftermarket 5700 XT cards should only be available by the end of August, while they shouldn't perform better than the current ones they will be significantly quieter under heavy operation.

Yeah i don't know if i am patient enough to wait that long... i've been waiting months as it is without a PC, might just wait a week or so and see if anything comes up regarding custom cards and then think about whether i should just go with a blower card. Although i've heard if you have good airflow blower cards shouldn't be that much of a problem, I currently have 2 120mm case fans at the front and 1 exhaust fan at the top and back would this have any affect on how cool the blower card will run?

I can give you the tip to use a second hand RX580 until you upgrade. It is available for only 150$ and quiet good. I wouldn't buy the blower card if I were you.

I can't wait for custom 5700XT's. Its the new ultimate value 2560x1440p gaming card for 100+ FPS, considering it has nearly the exact same specs as the RTX 2070 Super (minus the absense of RT cores of course but who cares) but for $100 less, and I am sure the 5700XT will overclock to or slightly over the performance of a stock RTX 2080 Standard (Non-Super).

Are u high ? The 5700xt is slower than the 2070 super in most if not all games, 

and the 2070 super is still a chunk behind the 2080

Yea by a hair, have you not seen benchmarks? Most games are so close it can be called margin of error, and on a few games the 5700CT actually overtakes the 2070 Super. Its not enough to justify a $100 price jump to get a 2070 Super unless you specifically want RT cores. And Overclocking can go farther than you think, I got my GTX 980 close to the performance of a GTX 1080 (stock of course and ignoring the VRAM difference). All you need is better cooling on the 5700XT cuz those stock blowers are running HOT!!!

While I agree the 5700 series is a pretty good value,  all of the benchmarks I've seen show a huge game of leapfrog with the 5700xt sometimes getting beaten by the 2060 super, and other times it right behind a 2080ti (only in fh4 tho).

Actually from the looks of reddit, not the greatest source but still, AIB should perform significantly better. As in an easy 10%-20% faster putting them on par with 2070 supers

Ya it is strange to see just how wildly the performance varies on certain games. In 2019, I'm surprised to see that there is still this much variation. Ive been paying attention to the Paul's hardware benchmarks, simply because he has done the most testing so far from what I can see. I think thermals might actually be playing a part in those weirdly poor showing in some games. I mean he did show that the 5700XT is hitting 84C. Thats thermal throttle territory and it probably had to drop its clocks a little bit.

Yeah, that reference blower isnt doing it any favors lol. Could also possibly be driver optimizations.

Ya I keep hearing that the first drivers have been total sh** and there have been serious issues with Gamers Nexus testing.

Ya Im planning on picking up a custom 5700XT card on Black Friday this year. Gotta get out from under this MSI Twin Frozr GTX 980. It performs well and overclocks decently, but the freaking 4GB VRAM is killing me on 2560x1440p lol. Its capable of 60-80 FPS on high settings but I usually have to dial back to a mix of Medium and High purely because I keep maxing out the VRAM and studdering like hell lol.

This video shows real life game loads between RX 5700, RX 5700XT, RTX 2060 Super, and RTX 2070 Super.

 

 

The results show that if you play Forza, you REALLY want the new Radeon cards, as the RX 5700XT nearly matches a freaking RTX 2080 TI in this title! The results also show the RX 5700XT to be behind the RTX 2070 Super in most senarios by 5-8%, and matching the RTX 2070 Super in a significant number of titles, but while costing 20% less, AMD is once again the king of value. Also, while getting 100-140 FPS in most cases on 2560X1440 with the highest settings, this card is perfect for Ultra-Smooth, lag free 90+ FPS 1440p Ultra Gaming good enough for even the most intense, fast-paced shooters.

 

My personal goal is 3440x1440 High settings at at least 90 FPS (turning down some optional settings like MSAA is no problem). I think the 5700XT should suit me well. Finally, the tests do show thermal throttling as soon as you attempt to overclock the 5700XT, but can sustain over 2.0GHz if you force the fan to 100% speed, making it EXTREMELY loud. @Ebony Falcon, this is exactly why I say the 5700XT is the better option. Once we get some aftermarket cooling options, these cards will easily maintain 2.0+ GHz with acceptable noice levels, outperforming the RTX 2070 Super and probably landing right in between the 2070 Super and the 2080 Standard, making it a massive value for money.

 

By the way @VillaiNPC August is literally 3 weeks away. I would say mid-month. Thats 5 weeks. Not too long of a wait.

The driver for Navi is still juvenile. We can expect better performance along the driver optimizations ahead.

@PotatoCanDo! Im just hoping whoever decides to design Aftermarket cards for AMD implements triple fans for the RX 5700XT and twin fans for the RX 5700. It would make the most sense since the RX 5700 isn't struggling so hard on the thermals like the XT variant is. So as long as its got 3 decent static-pressure fans, that's what I will be going for.
