Ryzen 7 3700x on MSI b450 carbon?

Im buildin my new pc and i was going for a 3600x (269 eur) + b450 msi carbon.
but Im going to render 2K-4k videos too, so I was wondering if a 3700x(359 eur) on the b450 carbon is a good idea? (the price difference bwtween the two cpus is about 90 euros)
the 3700x can be overclocked on the b450?
im tryin to find some benchmarks about those combinations, anyone has some info about it?

Yes, tho seems like early BIOS are just as buggy as new products for AMD has always been, so better wait a bit before deciding the final choice

The 3700x draws less power than the 2700x and by a noticeable amount too. It is a good idea, surprisingly. The benchmarks won't differ really at all on B450 compared to x570. You'll be getting the exact same performance. From what we've seen the 3700x doesn't overclock too far, so the answer is yes but.. no.

That combination will be fine.

Looking at power figures compared to 2700x.

You will be able to overclock just fine.

Bios updates should be in place by the time you have the products at the doorstep

update doesnt mean they solve the bugs.

Perhaps the MSI B450 tomahwak would be a better idea if you are thinking about overclock, even the B450 Steel would be also a good option.

I think OP is talking about the B450 Pro Carbon, which is a tiny bit better than the Tomahawk and plain better than the Steel Legend..
