What GPU/CPU combo should my friend get for 4k gaming?

UltimaHeart

My friend is new to PC gaming and he is interested in doing 4k Gaming

His budget is 2000$

What would be the best build for him if he wants to do 4k gaming?

He can easily get a 2080ti and a 9900k. In fact, he should get the zotac amp extreme version, as it's very aesthetically pleasing, and it's very fast. I'm not gonna say wait for Ryzen 3000, someone else can tho ?

Core i5 1035g4

Razer Blackwidow Lite

Heck you can get away with a 9700K if you need to shave some money somewhere.

I wanna go as far as to say 8700k, as the difference is small, but I'm uncertain.

A leak shows the 3600 barely slower than the 9900k.

ya he said 60fps, don't need a 9900k for that, i've been trying to justify the 9700k/9900k even after the price drop, and i can't. Well the only exception is if some1's pushing 144-200 and absolutely need that last 5%, then the 9900k might be an option.

I'd just try to convince him that 1440p is the true sweet spot, if you want 3440x1440p is the true glory.

Hardware wise? Ryzen 7 3700X coming in a week and a RTX 2080 Super Edition or RTX 2080 Ti.
