running 60hz on 75hz monitor slows the display down?

So as the tittle suggests, I have a 75hz monitor. 

 

Out of curiousity I set it to run a 60hz.

 

Then it suddenly slows down the windows animations and videos.

 

What causes this? Thanks!

What do you mean it slows down videos? Your question is really vague...

 

Your videos shouldn't be "slown down" because you went from 75hz to 60hz.... specially because most videos won't have more than 30fps to begin with the experience should be the same.

What's your internet speeds/specs?  I assume you're talking about youtube videos?

 

Windows animations like in Excel or whatever aren't affected by monitor speeds at all.

The cursor, when i use to have a 60Hz side by side with a 75Hz i could see the smoothness difference

Let me clarify... The animations won't slow down on a slower monitor.

 

Smoothness is not what the OP is talking about here.

system is all good.everything works fine @75hz.

 

But as I mentioned when I switch it 60hz in the display settings. the system becomes laggy. youtube videos appears like 10fps. 

 

Whats on this system is an rx560.
