Is Speccy drunk or am I seeing things? 4GB RTX 2070? 1600MHz DDR RAM?

Something's fucky. I'm getting annoyed about this stuff. I just don't know what's going on.

The RAM is right, as you double it for DDR, so that's 3200MHz.

 

I can't explain the 2070 nor the temp of your CPU (yikes).

Your CPU is reading as 105°C. Either that's an incorrect reading, or your CPU is thermally throttling. Which CPU cooler are you using? Fans plugged in and spinning? Correctly mounted? Thermal paste applied and you removed the plastic peel at the bottom of the cooler?

 

The RAM showing as 1600MHz is normal. That' means it's running at 3200MHz.

 

You should download GPU-Z and post its specs for your RTX2070. Might give us more information as to why it's reading as 4GB VRAM.

At 105C if that is correct that's why you're not getting CPU boost. Check the cooling.

 

For GPU, I'd download GPU-Z to check.

It could the Motherboards shared VRAM for the I-GPU. My ASRock H270 has 4gb of it.

I have heard statements that Speccy doesn't properly read GPU vRAM and it can be normal for it to show half of what it really is, just something to be aware of so you should be able to disregard that, it's likely just not seeing all 8GB of your RTX 2070.

Your Ryzen temp however is horrifying and you should check that temp against other SW, if it matches, you better fix your cooling before you melt it to your thermal paste and cooler (assuming it's on there).

Speccy has been bugged since Ryzen release when checking for temperatures.

Check with some more reliable software like HwInfo.

In my experience Speccy has been super hit-and-miss for reporting things correctly, even going back to Ivy-based shit. If you care about temp reporting, HWiNFO is my go-to. If you just want the numbers Mason (real 1337 gamers get that one), CPU-Z and GPU-Z are pretty much golden standard.

Guys, thanks a lot. I checked, and my CPU cooler (stock AMD) works fine, fans spinning and all. The temps are actually fine. 51 c... so nothing to worry about. it's fine gaming too. I think speccy was a bit tipsy. going to use CPUz and HWiNFO64 from now on. I use NZXT CAM too sometimes, which works alright.
