Need help to improve upload and download for a stable ping.

I have a Netgear Gaming router and a wireless modem with 15 mbps upload speed though only 1 mbps download speed. Could anyone recommend any options? To boost the speed.

Whats the speed coming from your isp, How strong is your signal, is it possible to run an ethernet cable?

Also, Im pretty sure good up/down ≠ good ping

Hi @axxru

Disconnect all the RJ45 connectors (ethernet cables) that you are not using from the router.

Get a networking switch

Link

Netgear GS105AU (don't own or recommend the brand, fair example though) AUD 23 $

I do not understand what type of router (Netgear gaming router model) and if you do not have NBN or ADSL what are you connecting to the internet with?

the fact that you are using wifi is the largest problem here, get a cable if you can

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Sounds like a Cable TV subscription (Foxtel?), I do not know of any Optus WiFi Gateway plans, do you?

In which case yes, the OP could use the Netgear Wi-Fi Internet Range Extender (-click here-) alternatively use an Ethernet over Power/ Powerline Adaptor (-click here-).
