Worth it to get aio

I’m looking at the Corsair h115i, not so much for performance more so aesthetics, but would hope it’d cool better. Any insight or personal opinions with this case and aio?

Case- NZXT H500

Prcessor- AMD Ryzen 5 2600

Ram- Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB(2x8GB) 3000MHz

Cooling-  AMD Wraith Stealth

Storage- 240GB Kingston A400 SSD, 4TB WD MyPassport external drive(probably getting a Samsung EVO 860 1TB and 2TB Seagate Barracuda 7200 soon.)

Video Card- EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 XC Ultra

Just dont do what I do and not replace it after 8 years. It leaked all over my system, killing my MoBo.

Ryzen 2600 doesn't need an AIO at all, so it's purely aesthetics you're going for.  Since that's a 100% subjective thing... your call.

It'll cool it fine, the chip can't OC to a point where you need an AIO tho.

Are you planning the place the rad on the top?

If it's the standard H500 you might choke it for air if you place it in the front

The H500 has fine airflow, not great, but better than the old S340.

OP: if you like the looks and have the cash, then sure!

It won't cool any better than an aftermarket aircooler, but at least itll perform better than the included ryzen cooler.

I think the h100i actually cools better than the h115, if you want to save a buck

OP mentioned he wanted one for looks tho

If its for looks then why ask in an open forum.  That's purely subjective.  If for performance, the more objective consensus is "no".

Even if they did perform, they mix Cu and Alu and after a few years, not even the anti-corrosive fluid can't stop the inevitable corrosion.

AIO's are just overpriced, under-performing time bombs.  If you have the money and want looks + performance, get yourself a proper watercooling setup :D

Dont bother, AIOs are only really a decent buy if you either cant fit a large air cooler or need the performance of a 280+mm one. Looks are subjective but AIOs are always going to be a pretty shit buy in my eyes

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

That just means my point still stands. Putting a rad in front of the S340 is a bad idea aswell.

Sure, but that's something everyone knows what you get when buying into a AIO. Doesn't mean you shouldn't get one.

So you want him to dremel a hole in the top for the 280mm rad? a H500 only fits a top 240mm.

I can second this I have an h500i and use a corsair h100i pro, the only 240mm rad support on the h500 series cases is in the front where you would normally mount the intake fans, so unless you're using a 120mm aio you can mount on the outtake it's going to be a bad time, I literally just bought a Fractal Design Meshify C because I'm sick of the airflow issues with the h500i. Honestly a dark rock pro 4 would be my recommendation if you want a case like the h500.

The H700 and H400 series are the only two that have 240mm+ radiator support on the top, the rest will all need to be mounted vertically in the front. If you want an H series NZXT case your best bet would be either those two or to go for a decent air cooler. Otherwise the airflow will be pretty crap.

Not everyone.  There are those that take "anti corrosive" a little too literal.  The only way to keep AIO's from corroding away to nothing is if you change the fluid regularly like you should with your car.  Unfortunately, AIO's, by nature, don't exactly allow this.
