Is there any info on DDR5 RAM ?

From 4000Mhz and beyond it will need DDR5.  I heard its coming out in 2021 or 2022.  Does anyone really know the date that DDR5 comes to masses ?

So you want an exact date 2-3 years in the future?

 

It'll get here when it gets here.  Probably damn expensive when it does too, then slowly reducing in price as it gets more mainstream.

My bad I meant stock speeds.  Yes Ive seen DDR4 do 6000Mhz on a MSI godlike board 

 

I meant to say official 4000Mhz without overclocking would be one of the first DDR5 ,,,, they start at 4000Mhz ……. Sorry for my mistake.

ever since ddr2 it's taken 2 years for each gen to stabilize, the moment when the new gen of ram comes out they've always sucked, motherboards, frequency etc. so i wouldn't worry about it til it actually comes out, performance gains will likely be non-existent. Stock speed iirc is around 5333.

That depends on the CPU IMC rather than the memory available on the market, I doubt that even when Intel adds DDR5 to mainstream they will clock the default to 4000mhz.
