LogMeIn Free No Longer Available

Not sure how many of you guys use Logmein for remotely accessing some of your devices, but I just received an email stating that as of today logmein free is no longer available. Kind of bummed, but luckily there are alternatives such as TeamViewer or good old windows remote desktop.

EDIT: Here's a list of alternatives I've come up with that you could use rather than pay for logmein:

Teamviewer would be cool if I could just skip the sponsored message. I avoid it just for that reason...

Yeah I personally preferred remote desktop and logmein for that exact reason. Logmein was great when helping friends/family that had no idea how to log into their router and change settings so i could setup remote desktop, but now that it isn't free looks like teamviewer is what I'm going to have to use from here on out, unless any of you know of a better free alternative.

I never used it. It's a huge security hole.

I got several viruses from it, and that's why I stopped using it. :( Great idea, but also a terrible idea.

If it's only on LAN Splashtop works really well. For WAN access it's like $15($20 ?)... yearly

I work out of state often so remotely accessing my computers at home is strictly over WAN, but for myself I just RDP into them being i have setup my router to do so. Teamviewer works fine for other purposes now that Logmein isn't free so I guess I'll just stick to those two options.

Agreed. $50/year for 2 machines is too damn high. Also, that 50/year is at 50% off the regular price so it's normally 100/year

Just use Remote Desktop, it's significantly better in any case.

Or use VNC, that's also pretty good. Personally I found that Remote Desktop is the best, and VNC is the second best choice. You also different option, like RealVNC, or TightVNC.
