So this isnt a question, but a reccomendation. So if anyone is planning on making basically any device on your local network work with Google Assistant or Alexa, read on. Home assistant, or hass.io is a software that can run on devices such as the raspberry pi, and here are some examples of limitless things you can do.

Get google assistant to control a samsung tv without chromecast

use a wifi light dimmer switch to adjust TV volume

Make doorbird doorbell ding on smart speaker, cast live feed to TV etc

connect to other smart hubs such as Smart Things.

make a button to play pewdiepie on all of the TVs in your house

cast to smart displays

control chainberlain MyQ garage without the $1 subscribtion

have all smart devices in one app and link to other services

diy security system

well anything

and that is just the beginning like i said basically anything will work if you make it! I just thought it would be cool to share since now you dont have to worry about your devices being compatible with stuff. There are many ideas on youtube. It made my life funner. it also can run on any old computer although raspberry pi is recommended.
