Now does this game actually look that good or is it just badly optimised lol

Should be optimized well. Considering it's going to support mantle.

Well just because it supports an API does not mean they put it to good use. We know so little about mantle anyway. But I am interested to see how Mantle plays out, I think everyone is pretty excited for it.

Why is everyone saying it's badly optimized? I think this is pretty standard for new games. Also, the i7 is just for the recommended, not the minimum, and we all know that recommended means everything maxed out on eyefinity, running 120 FPS solid...

I don't know why everyone thinks that mantle is some magic ingredient that is sprinkled on a game and makes them perfectly programmed and 1000 times faster than they would otherwise be. It's just a bunch of functions that the devs need to use appropriately to get any benefit.

Unless the game actually uses over 50% of all 8 threads at once, I call nonsense!

No we don't. There is no hard and fast rule, but generally the recommended requirements are for the high settings, and not the absolute highest which is Ultra. Minimum requirement is the bare bone, while recommended requirements are how it is meant to be played.

So you can understand why people scratching their heads over this one; considering that the i7 is the best CPU out there.

•  i7 4770k @ 4.5ghz • Noctua NHL12 •  Asrock Z87 Extreme 4 •  ASUS GTX 780 DCII 1156/6300 •

•  Fractal Design Define R4  •  Corsair AX860 80+ Platinum •  Logitech Wireless Y-RK49  •  Logitech X-530  •

I hope I can get another job and build my beast, also I think I'll need something a little more powerful for Star Citizen :)

LOL don't worry! AC4 asked for a Quad core as a minimum requirement but my C2D handles the game at 1080p and low settings just fine (30fps stable). I don't figure this to be much different, especially if it suggests a "High-End Dual Core". Your GPU is decent so you definitely surely probably won't be screwed  :P.

She is a competant system mate though I do want to upgrade, I have plenty of time to build a X79 system with dual Maxwells before that game comes out
