Posted March 17, 2019 So i was looking graphic cards listing for my first pc and i found used reference vega 56. Both cards are similarly priced, the vega one are a bit cheaper. Should i get used vega or new gtx 1660? And what psu should i pair with it? Im thinking about pairing it with seasonic focus plus gold 650w Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/1045244-used-reference-vega-56-or-new-gtx-1660/ Share on other sites
 Posted March 17, 2019 The Vega 56 is faster, but the 1660 comes with a warranty. Your call. V56 draws 210W, 1660 120W. A good 650W PSU, and that one is good, should be more than capable for either. I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk. Friend ran 3 v56 on a single 850w psu, with a oc at stock voltage. if you are playing 1080p, 1660. 1440p+ I'd get a used 1070 ti. You can get nice ones for 250$. Posted March 17, 2019 It's more of a matter of you having appropriated PSU for the V56 and being okay with the high temperatures and very loud noise. Im thinking about pairing it with seasonic focus plus gold 650w Vega 56 all day every day. It's like 20% faster. It sits between 1660ti and 2060. It's a lot faster than 1660.
