PSU made loud pop then pc rebooted

I was playing Anthem at high settings like normal. Next thing I know there was a loud pop then my computer restarted itself. My sister had walked over and said it smelled like burnt electrical parts. I didn’t smell anything. Took my psu out and I inspected it without taking it apart and couldn’t see any damage nor did i notice any odd smells from it. I’m running a i7 8700k overclocked to 4.9Ghz using a NZXT x62 kraken to cool it. Never goes over 80c. PSU is EVGA supernova 850 P2 80 plus platinum rating. Gigabyte z370 gaming motherboard, 32gb of Corsair lpx vengeance ram at 2666hz. Any ideas of what could of happened?

your PSU damaged itself. Possibly the 12V rail or 5V rail got damaged, probably from the CPU OC. I'd replace it before anything bad happens.

A loud pop followed by a smell usually means a blown capacitor, check all your parts for blown capacitors and/or burn damage. Do not use the PC until you find what it is and replace/fix it.

Are you positive it was the PSU that made the noise? If so, I would get on the phone with EVGA and explain what happened and try to get a replacement. Likely a blown capacitor. Remember, using a faulty PSU can bring down your entire system with it. Don't run your system until you have this taken care of.
