Cheap SATA to USB 3.0

svegori1950

Looking for cheap tech products on AliExpress I stumbled on CHIPAL Transparent 2.5 inch HDD SSD Case Sata to USB 3.0 Adapter Free 5 Gbps Box Hard Drive Enclosure Support 2TB UASP Protocol.

I have Toshiba 750GB 5400RPM hard drive from some laptop that doesn't work, so would it make sense to put it into this and use it as an external hard drive?

Yes, why not, sata to usb is not rocket science.

You can also use a SATA - USB3 dock if you're not on the go and have many sata disk.

You can just plug in the usb and swap the disk anytime.

I don't trust those cheap things from ali express, if you don't mind not having an enclosure get this.

Just because it came from aliexpress doesn't mean it's a bust.

I bet the Startech brand just rebrand a white label sata adapter and sell it at a higher price.

I saw that same exact adapter in many other brands.

Actually I thought using it like a portable HDD so enclosure is important.

And at this price I might just go for it and see what happens

Yeah at less than $10, you got nothing to loose.

I have great experience with sata-usb enclosure.

All my sata adapter is still working today, even the old non branded sata1-usb2 i had 10 years ago.

It might not be rocket science but I'm sure it's computer science some where ????
