DELL S2417DG/S2716DG Banding Fix? Sort of...Enabling Dithering

I have had some fails on dithering with 1809.

I installed 1909 with most recent updates and had no problems with dithering so far. Been working on every restart.

But be warned -it will eat time when you restart to install it!

Within 3 hours its done, depending on hardware.

 

You have to re-enable If you use EqualizerAPO.

Maybe even select the desired sound source too in windows settings. Mine switched to virtual audio cable. :]

Windows will be forcing its color profile too after this.

Task Scheduler.. \Microsoft\Windows\WindowsColorSystem.

Calibration Loader. Right-click it and select Properties.

Triggers tab. Edit both: "At Log on" and "On connection to user session".

Untick "Enabled" in both edit windows.

 

What a mess. I will keep updating this operating system just to see what happens.

Far less dithering problems than i had with 1809.

Have been snooping around threads like this for quit some time now. Has there been any progress made on 1909 or 2004?

I've been on 1909 and it works fine. I think just like before if your PC sleeps it requires a restart or reapplying dithering values.

I noticed that if dithering fails:
-ctrl+alt+del
-Sign out
-Sign in

This usually has fixed it in first try for me.

I have no idea but that re-signing in saves so much time
that im almost fine with how randomly dithering works for me.
