I'd be more tempted to just wrap some electrical tape or some shit around them, seeing as you only notice them because of the colours...

Yes I've done that plenty of times before, just make sure you get 3:1 or 4:1 heatsink or it won't shrink down onto the much smaller cable end due to how large some of those connectors are.

Could get some tech flex and some adhesive lined heat shrink. Works well and looks way better. Gonna do it to more stuff in my pcs as I normally use it for my cars.
