had to uninstall F@H, need help fixing this issue.

so, i decided to install folding at home in order to fold on my gaming PC while i wasn't using it. It went fine for two days and then a few days ago it started constantly using 100% of every recource my PC had even though I had it set on the medium setting. Games became unplayable and i was even lagging in the desktop. So i opened the web client and after about 1 hour of loading the page it just refreshed over an over again making it impossible to use the web client. I was forced to uninstall folding at home so I could at least use my PC till I got it figured out.
If anybody knows whats happening and how to stop that from happening again, i would re-install folding at home on my main gaming PC. But for now its not coming anywhere near it.

You CAN set it to fold only when Idle, so when you start using the PC it stops folding.

Do you have the logs from the folding client and can you post them?

Sounds more like an issue between the folding client and video driver and/or OS.  Anything in the event log?

If you do try to install it again at the end of the install process uncheck “Start Folding at Home” then once installed run the Advanced Client from the System Tray rather than the web client.

In the advanced Client click the configure button, select the “Expert” tab then add:

      pause-on-start    true

to have folding not automatically start when you log in

Then in the Advanced tab increase the logging level.

Then manually start folding and if you run in to issues post the logs in a spoiler text block.

You might want to do a clean install of your video drivers first.

i don't want to reinstall F@H till I . know for sure it isn't breaking anything, this PC is brand new and it would really suck if it broke. Anyway I doubt its an issue with drivers and OS, it worked just fine for a few days and i was able to use the web client to manage it but one day it did this, in the time I had it there were no driver changes, no windows updates, no anything that would change the way the drivers work. So before I reinstall it I would like to make sure there is NO chance that my PC will break.

also with folding taking away performance from everything else it sounds like it might have gotten set to maximum priority, instead of a lower than average stat e by default. in which case f@h is being processed before other things, like your web browser and games.
