Help with monitor for my build

gabriel.vega

This is my build so far there is a high chance I switch to a geforce 1070 or a radeon rx 590 buy what monitor do you guys recommend. I am not looking to spend more than 300 for the monitor, I am going to be doing a little bit of everything on it like editing videos and photos, special effects, computer programming, game development (unity), 3D modeling (blender, CAD), and gaming. I want to get a 1080p or preferably a 1440p monitor What recommendations can you guys make?

country: usa

Missing the build, what country?

Probably go for a 4k IPS display for productivity, you can always just run games at 1080p until 4k GPUs are cheap.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

sorry I posted this quickly I just updated it

Should for sure get an R7 1700 at nearly half the price

an RX 570 or 580 will be fine for 1080p stuff, would recommend if you end up downscaling anyways given the price(also let me know if you don't want the RE2 key...)

4K IPS free-sync display pricing is a bit high atm, that monitor was near $250 not too long ago.

There are some 32" or 40" options near $400 which would be preferred if you have the desk space for more usable pixels.

The Neptwin advertises AM4 support on amazon now.

Gaming isn't my main concern I am going to be doing a little bit of everything on it like editing videos and photos, special effects, computer programming, game development (unity), 3D modeling (blender, CAD), and gaming. Is there a huge difference between 60hz, 75hz, and higher hz. Csgo, overwatch, pubg, fortnite, rocket league, h1z1, are games that I own. I would like to hit at least 50-60 fps for the games but again gaming isnt my #1 concern but I still want to be able to game on the monitor and rig occasionally.

whats the point of getting a 4k monitor if you're going to lower the resolution? A 1440p monitor would be fine.

I am not going to lower the resolution for everything I do I am going to lower it for gaming and I dont game that much so it will not be that big of a problem I wanted the extra resolution for everything else that I do like productivity stuff but I realized that that is not in my budget I am going to go for a 1440p monitor. I also decided on a radeon rx 590 for a graphics card. Would you be able to make any recommendations for monitors?

an rx 590 isn't the best card for 1440p, and you'd have to turn settings down on a 1070 for 1440p. Ideally, a 2060/1070Ti is the best starting point for 1440p.

I understand that you'll lower it for gaming but 1440p does look great, it would suck to miss out on it.

I dont have it in my budget to give the extra 100-150$ for the better graphics card to run games at 1440p I am not primarily going to be gaming and I am not looking game at 1440p I will stick with 1080p for gaming. I want the extra resolution for stuff like movies, photo and video editing, etc. I would appreciate it if you could make any recommendations for 1440 p monitors with good color accuracy and contrast and around the 60-75 hertz range and preferably freesync. or do you agree with that the guy above said

For a 1440p monitor just get a 60Hz IPS panel, I recommend the following:

I don't deal much with IPS stuff, I know more about gaming monitors. Asus and BENQ are both reliable brands, but everyone makes their fair share of garbo products, so just read up on reviews, and watch lots of videos on the monitors. Video reviews are usually better than written ones from websites selling, since consumers don't know how to review very well.
