Which monitor? 23 or 21.5 inch?

nkucz

I currently have a 20" crappy monitor and I'm looking to upgrade to one of these, but I'm not sure if 23" will be to big. Which do you guys think is better?

21.5" Is so much cheaper, I would defenitely take the 21.5" one.

I'd say the 23 inch but if you feel that your screen right now is too small. If it just enough then get the 21.5 inch. Also look at other IPS monitors. Get this AOC, it something in the middle of the two sizes. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/aoc-monitor-i2267fw

I am a big fan of my 23'' monitor. it's all about personal opinion. as long as they have the same resolutions, type of screen and generally of the same quality. bigger monitors of the same resolution will distort the image slightly. most of the time you wont be able to tell the difference though.

23" won't too big. But I would get the 21.5" if you like the size of your current monitor, mainly because it is like $75 cheaper

since they both use the same resolution, 1980 x 1080, I would go the 21.5" you would have slightly higher pixel density.

If you don't think you will have space for a 23", get the 21.5". Also, if you get the 21.5" you can upgrade peripherals, headphones, etc.

24" is my personal favorite size. 21.5" is really small and I think you should at least get the 23", the difference in space it will take up is small, but the difference you feel when looking at the screen is huge. The 21.5" is proper cheap though, holy balls. It really only depends on whether or not you're short on cash.

It is always the same. Me and my sister were using a 15,6" laptop. Then she got a new computer with a 22" monitor and it seemed huge. Now I have a 23" and you can see the difference. I hate using her PC, fullHD or more, 23"+ for life.

It's slight but noticeable.

21.5" and 23" is preference though. I prefer 23" and my friend prefers 21.5".

Shrug*

I'm not sure about that.

The Asus display has a better and more stable stand.

Yea the complaints on the AOC one, said that the monitor came crooked a lot of times.

It's really personal preference. Although the IPS 23" would probably look better, even though it might be just marginally.

I'd say once you go bigger you'll never wanna go back. Perhaps that sounds wrong. To me, the size of the screen can only make a difference depending on how far back you will be sitting away from it.  I have done enough asking around to settle on this model for myself after comparing with a similar AOC. It will be obnoxiously big on my cheap Staples desk but I don't care.

Stick with the 21.5" or compare the model I mentioned.
