Any suggestions for either of these builds?

So you have two 980 Ti's? Dang.

The first build is better, but get a better PSU, probably a different motherboard (unless you aren't overclocking at all and plan not to), and get a case with way better airflow.

Do you have a recommendation on cases? It was hard to find good reviews on high airflow cases. What would be a better motherboard for overclocking?

  • SLI isn't of much use, a single 20 series card would be better. Or even a 1080Ti.
  • Small SSD.
  • RAM's too slow on the second build.
  • No cooler?

Welcome to the forum.

I'm working on a budget of about 1500.

If I can make a cooler work with that I'll do it, but PC parts aren't cheap. I already have the gpus. The gpus in my lists are place holders. I have 2 galax 980ti Hof. I'm planning to upgrade on the gpu later.

You must of not looked too well because the Fractal Design Meshify C has been received by consumers and reviewers quite well. It has a mesh front panel and a mesh opening on the top of the case.

If you have the money for it, the x470 taichi (and taichi ultimate) are probably the best overclocking ryzen boards. The B450 tomahawk and b450 pro carbon AC are also pretty strong but not as good at the taichi.

The fractal meshify design c won't fit my gpus. Is there a less expensive x470 board for oc. The b450 boards don't support sli.

Why are you doing SLI in the first place?

Not like it'll lead to higher clockspeed, given ryzen's voltage curve...

Sell one of the GPUs or keep it as a backup, there is zero point to SLI in 2019.

I'm not getting rid of either of these. I'd be a fool to sell either of the galax 980ti Hof edition gpus with included water blocks.

If you already have the GPUs, why are they included in the price?

They're place holders in my list to help calculate voltage and keep an eye on my total costs.

Dang. A lot of the other cases that come to mind with good airflow are either not being sold or they're pricey. There's definitely cheaper cases with good airflow but they're not coming to mind since the meshify C is usually what I recommend.

I think the case I have is the best compromise, but is this better?

I almost thought that was the non revised version of the H500. As long as it's not the shitty one with the acrylic front panel you're fine.

Change your PSU, that one isn't too good in terms of design quality.
