Putting Thermal Pads on Laptop RAM

I was reading a forum:

And they mentioned they put thermal pads on the laptop RAM and M.2 SSD, would putting these pads on the ram actually help? One of the people replying says it would when the fans are on and would not need to contact metal to dissipate the heat. Has anyone tried this? Are there any stats for it?

Thank you for your response, however I am looking for empirical data, or at least an article about it. Or theories as to why it doesn't matter or won't work.

Thermal pads aid in the transfer of heat from the part to a heatsink.  The presence of the pad alone may very slightly increase the area from which heat could dissipate, but without the presence of a heatsink it is pointless.

Thank you all for your thoughts and input, it struck me as a possibility as I don't completely understand how they work. Also, @TheShawnMiranda He notes later in the forum he is not a native English speaker.

the temperature data he got are only for the storage drives, not memory. Memory don't need extra cooling, you don't see crazy OC sticks come with spikey heat spreaders that turns them into hedgehogs. Let alone standard speed memory. As for SSDs, the controller do prefer lower temperatures but not the NAND flash modules.

Kingston actually made HyperX laptop ram with heatsinks a while back. They they stop making it because users started reporting problems with their laptops.

You are as dumb as a cow, My Kingston SSD on my msi gf65 came with a thermal pad under SSD factory But I removed it not knowing what it was at the time and it was running at 80-90c I threw a strip of 2mm grizzly under there and it’s dropped down to 30-40c! So if you think dropping 20c by throwing a thermal pad under the SSD is impossible then well… I’m sorry but you have a LOW mental capacity. I dropped around 40C on my SSD with simply throwing a thermal strip back under my SSD. Please take your dumb annoyance and false information out of here this isn’t the place for a Troll! Thankyou

Yes it would very much so help!!! I threw a 2mm strip under my SSD in my MSI GF65 thin and dropped upwards of 40c!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND putting a thermal pad UNDER your SSD ASAP!!
