Moderator?

I've just been here like 5 minutes ago, surfing through threads, i found a lot of them locked by the moderator. Then, the moderator said

"tHiS Is BeTteR sUiTEd aS A StAtuS uPdaTE. LoCkED"

 

What does it mean? What is "Status update"?

Most posts that are locked due to "Better suited as Status Update" (or some variation thereof) are usually posts that are not conducive to long form discussion.

 

Usually they comprise of a statement like "I got a new car!" or "Man, what a slow day at work today".

 

Sure you can have discussion about these topics, but it's not as good as "I got a new car - give me your feedback and share yours".

 

Status Update is basically like the same thing on Facebook. Go into your Profile, and you can create a post that appears on your Profile's feed. Anyone that follows you will get a notification. Anyone that looks at your profile can also read your Status Update.

As @dalekphalm mentioned, we lock posts that are meant as statements or updates on personal stuff with no real content or intent for discussion.

We have an area meant for such things we call Status Updates, it can be found either on the main page to the right or in your profile page where you can post all to your content.
