[US-Newegg] Fractal Design Define S2 $120

As long as you dont need more than 3 HDD's, it actually makes sense now to purchase the S2 over the Define R6

Is this a sale or the new price of it?  IMO, this is where the case should sit, under the R6.

I still prefer the define nano.

Also, it has the issue of vertical GPU too close to the glass, but it still looks to have a really good, clean layout. What is the feature that makes this worth $120?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

  1. Well thats the mitx version of the original Define S
  2. Thats just the trend. I still promote it as waterblock use only
  3. Over the Define S? Only difference is TG, PSU shroud, Fan controller, Extra Fan, retooled HDD cages and vertical GPU mount.

Could you explain what I'd be getting from either the S2 or the R6 instead of just going with the Focus G for $49.99?

Aside from the extra two and a half inches of GPU space, one extra SSD bay, one extra HDD bay and I guess some USB C port(I don't own whatever plugs into this).

What else would I be getting because if I'm paying $120 for a case, it better supply more than what a $120 Ryzen 5 CPU would give me.

The R6 technically holds a maximum of 11 total HDD's and 4 SSD's, other than that...

  1. Only difference is TG, PSU shroud, Fan controller, Extra Fan, retooled HDD cages and vertical GPU mount. (And USB Type C Gen 2) Also arguably better cable management, build quality, silence, dust filters, and support for radiators larger than 280 at the front and 240 at the top (360 front, 420 top)

What you lose is the slightly better airflow of the Focus G and 1 5.25" bay (R6) or Both 5.25" bays (S2)

To be clear, you dont HAVE to pay $120+ for a case if a $50 case works just fine. Just like you dont HAVE to pay for a larger SSD/HDD if you dont need more storage because it doesnt add any performance.

Of course a case will never supply you with the same value of CPU performance, thats why you budget out a system! The Focus G is a great case for the $$$ and does 95% of what any case above it in price can do. But there are people (like myself) who will pay extra for a "nicer" case that functionally does the same thing. (Can also be said about Tempered glass and/or RGB)

Well to be fair I wouldn't call the Focus G a ripped up pair of jeans and shoes with holes in them :D , but essentially yes.

Here's a better one...

One costs much less than the other. And just like the S2, R6 and Focus G, all are equally as "nice". At least to me that is. Not that I'd ever want any of the 5.

That's probably a better comparison. (Especially if the right option was "rose gold" or something)
