Dear Youtube...

Dear Youtube,

Stop with-holding my subscribed channels from my subscription box. I know you are trying to be all edgy with your fancy algorithms but I just want to have a full list of all of the videos that ALL of my subscribed channels have uploaded. Not my most watched, not my newly subscribed, not the ones that I looked up and then now you all of a sudden remember that I want to see that channel's videos... no... All of them.

Thanks. It really shouldn't be this hard, especially since this has been an ongoing issue for literally years.

What do you all think? Experience any similar issues? Find any channels that you thought were dead but were actually still posting videos even quite recently but just so happen to not show up in your subscription feed even though you are subscribed to them? Please let me know.

I wish "home" was changed to more like a discovery page, "home" can be what Youtube wants you to watch based on your history and their algorithms, and "subscriptions" should be a full, unadulterated, chronological list of all of the uploads from ALL of the subscribed channels. That's my take.

Google: Do you want to receive notifications on new content for this channel?

User -yes

Google: Then press subscribe button.

User -Well I'm still not receiving any notifications.

Google: We must make sure you really want to receive notifications of new content for this channel.

User -I already said I do!

Google: then hit the bell icon!

Like why?

Half the time the bell icon doesn't work. And some channels when they converted to the bell i con had more subscribers with it auto selected, others didn't. It also randomly unchekcs the bell icon. And why does shit that I'm not subscribed to show in my sub box? And why is it not chronological?
I do n't even log in anymore.

I pretty much always use private browsing, which means I start a fresh session often anyway. So my content recommendations are fresh cancer every morning.

vanilla suggestions are even worse. Front page is just the same 2 year old video no one was watching for weeks a lot of times.

And they dont play favorites

That would be to easy and of common sense thinking, we cant have that.

Besides YouTube is now the current supermarket that moves their stock around every other day so you have to search for what you want instead of just walking in grabbing what you came for and be gone in 5 min... You leave 4 hours later spending a 1k instead of the $10 you initial wanted. bleh.

I just don't understand this problem as I have never personally experienced it.

All the videos of people I have subscribed to show up in the subscription page (or whatever it's called in English) in chronological order.

It seems like a jank solution though. If I'm subscribed to lets say 50 to 100 channels that upload content on a regular or semi-regular basis, I don't want to have to scroll through a bunch of notifications in that tiny little window in the top right. I don't want to have an extra step of hitting the bell when I just want a list of all my subbed channels' uploads.

I agree, on the TV you cant even filter the shows from newest to oldest. Also I wonder if I can add AdBlocker to the TV, the commercials are horrendous. Please advise, am waiting for your response.

You can't defeat TV ads, the only way to avoid them is not having a TV.

Yeah youtube's home page sucks.

For me it's like "Oh you watched one dude FC a ridiculously hard guitar hero song, that must mean you want to have EVERY SINGLE POPULAR GUITAR HERO CHANNEL on your home page."

"Oh you watched a video about Fallout 76? You must want EVERY SINGLE CHANNEL DOING A PLAYTHROUGH OF FALLOUT 76 AND EVERY CHANNEL THAT'S DOING NEWS OF FALLOUT 76 on your home page."

No youtube, I watched 1 video. Compared to probably 100 tech videos.

I think their algorithm musts be "Suggest things the user has watched in the last 5 videos."

The thing that I really don't get is that youtube often puts videos I've already seen on my front page. Like seriously youtube, you KNOW I watched, it even has the little red bar, WHY are you suggesting I watch it again?

I figured it would be hard to add AdBlocker to the TV for YouTube.

I figure the best solution is to buy an Android Box.

Cable sux even with hdd recording. Not much market in technology to erase commercials from hdd in the cable company box.

IIRC at one point there was once a "skip commercial" button on DVR or TIVO or something so long as you had the show recorded. It'd just fast forward until the show started again.

I'll be honest here.

I have NEVER had a single subscription box issue.

I have a direct link to the sub box on my speed dial which has always shown me every new videos from my subscriptions, even the ones where people were complaining nobody was getting videos in their subbox..

I think this whole thing started when Youtube decided that the Home Page was no longer fit to host the subscriptions of their users, requiring them to do extra steps to actually see the latest content.

So I've always assumed the reason people are not seeing a particular video, is because they aren't going to the subscription page, but merely the home page, which is steaming pile of horseshit, showing your videos you've already seen like 2 or 3 years prior.

As an exemple, here's what my homepage looks like right now, it's GARBAGE, but notice it says "from your subscriptions" at the top? I can totally see some people looking at that and thinking "oh hey, the latest videos!" When in reality... between 56 minutes ago and 1 day ago, there's been a lot more content uploaded.
