Posted December 1, 2018 After almost loosing all my passwords which were in a notepad which no backup in an HDD which contained 8 years of data on it, i'm thinking to use a password manage from here on, only Linus was all about Lastpass and all the other creators were on Dashlane as of recently, i wanted to know which would be better, and which one can be used without a subscription and the pro or cons of each. since Linus sponsors most of these i'd doubt he'll ever make a comparison video on tech quickie or anything, any help would be appreciated. Posted December 1, 2018 I had the free version of Dashlane for the better part of a year and a half and I really liked it. Really the only con for me is that you need to pay for it to sync passwords between clients, though at the very least it is easy to export/import passwords between them. In the end though I quit using it because I kept forgetting to export passwords and I nuked the Windows installs on both my laptop and desktop at the same time and lost all of them. Obviously not a problem with Dashlane, just my own retardation. Really if I were you I'd get the free tier of both LP and Dashlane on all your devices and try them out side by side and see which one you like more. Posted December 1, 2018 I am personally using KeePass, simply because it's free and I have control over where the passwords are stored. If I had to choose a paid service, I'd go with 1Password. LastPass has been working way too hard on their marketing and has had some bad reputation in the past. Dashlane is too unfamiliar, can't comment on that.
