Will 60hz content on a 144hz monitor cause tearing?

I am looking to get into a 144 Hz monitor, the main reason I have not gotten into one is that I'm afraid that if I turn down my setting to 60hz (sometimes higher refresh rate can make me sick) if it will tear or I need gsync to get rid of this problem

Yeah.

Most people don't notice tearing though unless it gets really bad.

You probably won't notice anything. Or just set it to 120hz maybe...dunno if that would do anything

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Usually the motion blur effects that give me issues, or the swaying in an FPS.  Refresh rate's never been the cause for me...I've had that issue since Wolf3D.
