my PC can't run smoothly Fortnite

Hi, my specs are GeForce 930m, I7 5500U, and 8go RAM, but I barely run Fortnite at 60fps with all settings set to low, I run into some lags at moments especially in fights. Every time when I run the game I set fortnite's windows priority to realtime and I close all other programs. Is there something I can fix ? and is it normal to run it as slow as that on that kind of hardware ?

Thats pretty low end hardware you have in your laptop, sounds normal for the specs.

The 930m (mobile) is a low energy graphics chip that was designed for light video and image editing on the go. The U variant of the Intel Mobile Processors is part of the Low Energy family so to speak so not really meant for gaming.

Even on low settings, 60 fps is an ambitious target to hit at 1080P or even 720P with your specifications. With the gpu and cpu under load, the cpu probably can't maintain full speed either (and at 2.4 GHz base, it isn't speedy to begin with) Given that heavy firefights induce sudden framerate dips, the CPU may be presenting a bottleneck itself, though it's difficult to confirm as smoke and other such effects dramatically increase fill rate and bandwidth demands on low end GPUs.

 

Btw, what are your current settings in the drivers? Certain settings here can have a substantial impact on gaming experience.

Try installing the latest graphics drivers, updating to the latest windows, run a full scan on windows defender, and mind checking the temperatures when you launch fortnight.

with a clean windows install and updating your drivers you might be able to squeeze out a little more, but i wouldnt expect much more out of your hardware.
