Just joined, only with a laptop for now, since my CPU cooler is in RMA-limbo for my main rig.

I'm one of the few people I know that tend to repair electronics with a smith's hammer on a regular basis.

PPD seems to vary based on the project you are working on.

Folding online 24/7 except when im gaming that is.

Edit: I do know how to overclock i just noob at what voltages do what and how and what i can do to finetune folding client.

I got a Core_17 protein to fold but my client wont start because it says this.

20:31:09:WU00:FS00:0x17:Temperature control disabled. Requirements: single Nvidia GPU, tmax must be < 110 and twait >= 900

Are there flags that I should put to change the tmax and the twait or is there a setting somewhere else I need to change? Possibly a core option?

EDIT: It seems to have just started on its own. I guess this doesn't apply to me anymore. But I would still like to know how to add core options for future reference. Thanks!

Overclocking won't get you big PPD increases. First off, you pretty much cannot OC a GPU - Folding is VERY flaky around that and will most times fail. OC'ing a CPU will typically give you a few more PPD, but in the end, not a "huge" boost.

For Overclocking, Linus has a few videos on how to OC SB, IB and haswell chips - go on youtube channel and search. For a bit more hardcore voltage related OC;ing TTL has a couple of in-depth videos as well. Check his youtube channel.

Many WU's and projects can take a while before any "work" is registered, either by the estimated PPD showing or work completed.

As for options, with Core_17 being a general WU now, you really don't need any options on the GPU or SMP slots. There are a few you can do to tweak how the FAH clients works, but that is for more advance usage and such.
