no wifi option available when i installed ubuntu as my second os

since i have recently installed ubuntu 16.04 as my second os i can't see a wifi enabling option.

I think it's at the top right of the desktop. Have you installed drivers for your wifi adapter? Some adapters don't have Linux drivers, like my old Netgear one.

Ditto, some wireless cards are very finicky under any linux distro
