Would a GTX1050 Ti with 4GB of VRAM be considered an upgrade from a RX 460 with 2GB of VRAM

Hello LTT Forum Peeps

As the title suggests I currently have a RX460 2GB Version from Sapphire and I am considering on switching to a GTX1050Ti for my gaming rig but I'm want some of your guys insights first before pulling the trigger on that 1050Ti

PC Specs :

MB: ASUS H110M-A/M.2

CPU: i5-7400

RAM : 8GB DDR4-2133 4x4 from GSKILL

PSU : Zalman ZM-400 GVN 400W <--- Will upgrade to a EVGA 500B 500W tomorrow

Save up for a 980 or something. I'm the 1050 isn't a big enough jump in performance to justify the cost, you can find used 980s for $200-250 and that would be better imo

Both have weak cores and your core craps out long before your VRAM becomes an issue.

get a 1080 it's 500...

That's substantially more expensive than either a 460 or a 1050ti.

I also forgot to mention that I don't live in the US I live in New Zealand so GPU prices vary very differently I'm going to have a look at second hand GTX970s or 980s and save up more. But I'm going to have to get a better PSU first

1050ti is roughly 35% faster so it's a noticeable improvement but it depends on price...if someone is doing a trade + some money for example it could be worth it...
