2x1070 Sli, or 1080ti?

Go to solution Solved by Hunter-97-G,

Even on games that take full advantage of SLI, the 1070's will only be slightly faster than the Ti at the expense of more heat, more power and of course many games not scaling at all. Go 1080 Ti.

I'll probably be throwing together a build soon, but I'm not sure what to do for graphics. 2 1070's in SLI or a 1080ti??

Edit:This will be for gaming

1080ti, single more powerful card is always ideal.

Single 1080ti unless most of your games do support SLI. (but then again, I would suggest 1080ti still, then get another if you need it... It's what I did... Sold my 1070 instead of getting another but ended up buying 2 1080ti's)

I'm going to put a link to my PC specs which actually aren't my PC specs and I cry myself to sleep everyday so I can have these PC specs but I can't afford these PC specs so PC specs PC specs PC specs PC specs PC specs PC specs.

The literal sence. A 1080ti is more powerful than a 1070 and sli support and scaling is not always there. So if you have the means the single more powerful card is better than 2 less powerful cards in sli.

1080ti obviously, save money on motherboard and PSU and get the best experience everywhere, SLI are always hit and miss, can work really well as much as really bad.

2 1070s will be more powerful, but also a lot more problematic. A single 1080 Ti is overall a better solution.

Probably at least 500 watts, though depending on the model and whether or not you overclock it could probably go up to 600 or even 700 watts. /s

Do you have a 1070?

- Yes: Get another 1070.

- No: Get the 1080ti or wait for Vega (it should not be that long but q2 2017 ends on June 30th 2017 so could be a few months)

definitely 1080 ti, I'd even go so far as to say you get one of the more exotic models like the ASUS Poseidon etc.  Check this list to see the varieties of 1080 ti's with crazy/cool cooling solutions

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

I was just thinking of getting the founders edition

For the best cooling (and performance!) I strongly recommend the MSI seahawk X.  No need for a custom loop and it will be a lot more powerful than a founders.  If not that get one of the three fan options like the FTW3 or ASUS STRIX.  You really don't want founders on such a hot card
