There are three Ryzen 7 chips that are available right now. Ryzen 7 1700, Ryzen 7 1700X, and Ryzen 7 1800X.

depending what are you going to do... Your actual rig its pretty fine tho also i would wait for more benchmarks done by youtubers if amd is a real beast or not even if they shown up on the conference...

ryzen 7 1700= 7700k

ryzen 7 1700x=6800k

ryzen 7 1800x=6900k

Remember to quote me (or someone else), otherwise we won't going to recieve your answers...

Nothing from Ryzen 7. It's too expensive. I can make a list for you though if you'd like.

800 bucks is a bit tight and if you are prepared to give up imo too much on the gpu part of the build, you can pre-order one :P

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3

ryzen 7 1700= 7700k

ryzen 7 1700x=6800k

ryzen 7 1800x=6900k

this comparison is not true at all. even 1700x is around 40% faster in cinebench test than 6800K, so actually they are not equivalent. but i woudl take that tests with grain of salt. we will see other benchmarks soon!

One thing first. You have the best i7 that your board can support and are you the guy that I said to sell your blue RAM and buy some red RAM?

cpu-motherboard-ram upgrade for 800 bucks with ryzen, no problem :P

You could probably get the 1800x if you want in that case.

300 bucks for motherboard, ram and a good cooler is perfectly possible.

Here's a great upgrade for your current build:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3P2Tjc

I kept everything Black and Red and saved $100.

(Edit) This list has 32GB of RAM to match the 32GB that you currently have:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9mkqwV

I do recommend the first list with 16GB of RAM so that you can spend the left over $100 on other things for your build.

One question, do the prices for these go down for black friday or cyber monday? I'm just wondering like in general, do pc parts go down for the holidays?

Sometimes, not always though. It is usually a gamble as to what will be on sale, and for how much. They also sometimes go up in price due to increase in demand.

Would you recommend me sell my cpu, mobo, cpu cooler, and ram, and then buy the new parts, or wait till the holidays and see what i can make out of it

The issue with holidays is the extremely small time window which limits the parts you can get if they become sold out. Your CPU, mobo, cooler (unless it is compatible with your new build), and RAM would be the only things I would suggest selling. The 980ti is still a very capable card and will last you quite some time. No matter which way you go, Intel or AMD, keep that GPU, you won't be able to sell it and get a better GPU without paying more.

$800 will likely land you in the range of an i5 with a 1070 or i7 with a 1060 and 16GB of RAM and a cheap CPU cooler if you also intend to go for Z270.

Ryzen will likely not be any better price wise for the current CPUs (and mobos) announced for sale in March, their lower-end CPUs may allow for this budget, but nothing is concrete on those CPUs yet.

Yes, PC parts do go down in price for both Black Friday and Cyber Monday. I think in all honesty that that is the best time to order parts. Not everything is on sale for like 55 and 60% off though. Sometimes it's just like 5 or 10% off or maybe just free shipping.
