AMD Ryzen Motherboards and Pricing

Per usual if this is posted already I apologize, I always do a search before posting anything. But here is some interesting information I found, which is important to me as I am planning a Ryzen build.

 

AMD Ryzen motherboards are CHEAP, ASUS is just $69-$209

I hope these motherboards are of good quality... I'd rather pay more for better quality then less for less.

This is just categorically not true. There are a lot of things that are way overpriced like a lot of Intel is premium priced where you pay more for the name. However buying something just because it is cheaper, is not a good way to go about things, cause you can absolutely get what you pay for. I bought a $20 hammer drill once and the motor burned up in just over a hour, so yeah theres that

They should be okay... Could be missing features, but Asus don't usually manufacture total rubbish.

It was just a joke. I've been called an AMD fanboy on numerous occasions so other people will get it.

Asus lower end boards always seem to have bad review so I avoid them. I'm more excited for what AsRock has to show.

Still no info about X300. Why! Leak some stuff about that already damn it!

Pricing looks super affordable. Even lower than what I really expected to see.

I figure the X300 boards will be about $125. Shame. No savings there over Intel.

I think that was more an issue of poor VRMs and heat. Since these are much lower wattage chips, less of an issue.

Yeah, I built AMD for 3 years, then they just couldn't compete so I have been building INTEL for 5 years. I don't care either way, I am bout performance for value, whoever that is.

And some crashes (not anymore), fans sometimes like to roar for few seconds at start up of Windows 

Bought it for 250, now that fucking MSI costs the same and the PowerColor lowered to 230 fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck

They say that performance is like haswell. But if you take into account the minimal performance gains from that to skylake, and the cost then it makes more sense, especially if you can get that many cores, that much clock, and threads for that cost.

They had generally weak VRMs but that's coupled with the FX CPUs pulling a ton of power. These Zen chips have really low TDP - the same VRM on an AM4 motherboard will be better for OC than on a AM3+ motherboard.
