Noob looking for help choosing PC

MYoungs

Hi!

I know very, very, very little about building PC'S and parts but I enjoy watching the videos on the linustechtips YouTube channel so thought this might be the best place to come.

I need help picking/finding the best PC almost only for games. My budget it £1200. These are the 3 PC'S I'm looking at but with my knowledge I'm not sure if I'm getting the best out of my money. ( The Alienware one is pretty much purely because I like the look of them but also not sure if it competes with the other 2 )

https://www.gladiatorpc.co.uk/configure/config/66646

https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/view-item/Stratos-1000/?gclid=CKjS0efliNICFSsW0wode8EEPA

http://www.dell.com/uk/p/alienware-aurora-r6-desktop/pd?oc=d00awr602&model_id=alienware-aurora-r6-desktop

There are a few alienware models that are within my budget but to be honest I have no idea which one would be better etc.

I'm willing to upgrade any of these upto my maximum budget ( £1200 ) or if you hage suggestions of other PC'S please link!

Please help me, Thank you!

Snip

Alienware, while cool, is not even close in price to performance. Also, the other two don't seem like very good deals? Have you considered building your own rig? Between the other two, probably the pcspecialist link? If I could have some more experienced opinions here, that would be great. Good luck!

I have been thinking about building my own but it would be my first time so just a bit scared to be honest and no little about what parts would be best etc. Could obviously just research it but that's just an excuse for me to put it off haha

If he hasn't built a pc before, then I think this is good. An overclockable CPU and Motherboard is probably useless because the OP may not even overclock.

At what resolution do you plan to play, and which games? There's a big chance that a 1080 is not necessary..

I really don't think  futureproof is a good idea, special ryzen and vega gpu will be a huge impact on future computer

The release of Ryzen and Vega has no impact on how future-ready the 1080 is on lower resolutions than 4k. Even if it did, Vega isn't expected to be leagues above the 1080 in performance and Ryzen will be on a roughly even footing as Intel.

My Build:

CPU: i7 4770k GPU: GTX 780 Direct CUII Motherboard: Asus Maximus VI Hero SSD: 840 EVO 250GB HDD: 2xSeagate 2 TB PSU: EVGA Supernova G2 650W

I'll be playing most games really indie to AAA but I'll probably be spending 50% of the time playing Blizzard games

I am talking about because of the Ryzen and Vega ,intel and Nvidia may release more powerful hardware

If they do the 6700 and 1080 will still rock 1080p and 1440p for a significant time to come.

that is true, but if 1180 and 1170 have a 50% increase,it will be nice save the money to buy a 1070 and get a 1170 but no one know the future, I just do not like the concept of future proff

Shit I just made a long ass reply and Firefox crashed so tldr need info on buying parts in UK and other stuff like that

Spoiler

I'd highly recommend overclockers.co.uk or ariapc as they are very if not le best retailers in uk, same with DPD being the best courier as they are fast AF and handle packages with extreme care and with most orders on the above retailers you'll get dpd's tracked shipping for free.

Please PM me :)
