Unigine Valley Benchmark Scores Thread + SUPERPOSITION ***Over 1000 Submissions!***

Jumper118

I would wait for the 980 Ti if it ever comes out but my step up program with EVGA is about to expire tomorrow so I bit the bullet.

BTW, Kingcry, you are going to hate me.  I just overclocked my CPU to 4.8 GHz and improved my score again.  LOL  Sorry, last one for right now until I beat the person above me.

goob job i wasn't up a 3.25am this morning to update your first score then :P. Nice on beating the kingpins!  @VSG  :D

All he would have to do to make that gap is push his GPU's hard on the core and memory clocks

Okay since I have the 3way SLI GTX980 I thought I´d give Valley a run... can´t even stretch out how much I´m disappointed. I am worldwide No. 9 (at the time I post this of course ;) ) in the HoF of 3D Mark FireStrike ULTRA and can´t do better in Valley :(. My CPU runs at 4.7GHz and 1.45V and my cards boost in EVGA´s precision X up to 1552MHz... there´s not much I can do better.

Yeah it should be but my system is fine, IDK why Valley doesn´t work too good with GM204 but I ran a FireStrike ULTRA afterwards and was even better than yesterday. So I know that my hardware works perfectly fine.

Question is now can you match or get close to this with 3-way?

It's not surprising that Maxwell struggles with Valley/Heaven, and I doubt any driver updates will improve this. Maxwell gains most of its strength from better color compression and faster clocks, and Unigine benchmarks have a lot of movement and color fluctuation - partly due to day/night cycling and extreme tessellation, not to mention weird camera panning and movement. 3DMark Firestrike on the other hand is a poster child for proving color compression techniques: there's not a plethora of different colors, not as much bizarre camera movement (there is some lol), and in one scene only a small percentage of the pixels on screen are changing.

If the 970's I'm getting perform worst in benchmarks and gaming, I won't hesitate to turn around and sell them and go back to my 770's

Well after like 2 hours of messing with clocks and closing out all programs and restarting after lock ups and driver crashes I got a new high score on the 970.I could not go to +700 on the memory or it was an automatic driver crash, I seem to be hitting the tdp wall here, taking away some memory frequency I can hit +186 on core but lose more frames at that point then I would keeping the memory. Everything else is at stock voltages and speeds in the bios.

I5 4690k (stock)

G1 970 1547 core   4104 memory

72.4 average fps

3028 score

Extreme HD settings

I had in the past and that's how I was getting the 2700 area, but now after more practice and research I'm sure I could get higher if I messed with the core volts. I might, need to go eat first, I get too into something and don't eat for 12+ hours XP

970/980's don't do to we'll in Valley...

Real world gaming performance however is excellent

spare rig copped some mixed crossfirex - interesting results. trying a 4870/4870 later this week. the 4850's ram is slowing everything down...

cpu: i5-750

gpu1: ATI HD 4870 512mb gddr5

gpu2: ATI HD 4850 512mb ddr3

Baic:

score: 1847

fps: 44.1 (42fps with a single 4870 :-S)

Extreme HD:

score:70

fps: 1.7

If I disabled AA on the Extreme HD setting the crossfirex resulted in 22.8 fps, the 4870 alone was 17 fps.

so the 4850 is "helping"

Sorry for making you redo it so soon after it was done the first time but this is for sure all she has. I don't know how I got it to run stable the first time but as soon as this was done and I tried going up 2mhz on the core I can't get it back to this score. Very happy with it though XP   Although she peaked at 58c but the house is at 68f but no fan blowing in, just trapped in a cabinet next to my desk. Maybe if I put a fan on the side to blow air in ....

Anyways, specs are,

5690k

Gigabyte G1 970

Core +200 = 1592

Memory +600 = 4104

Score = 3053

 Fps = 73.0

I ran Heaven. Unigine Heaven is perfectly fine. My scores are fine.

But I did some research today and found many other people with the same issue. They score crazy high scores with 3D Mark and Heaven and the scores are way too low for what their system specs are in Valley. It could be X99 related although I doubt that.

I´ve seen Valley benchmark results from people running an i7 5960X or same CPU that I´ve got an got so bad scaling issues with their 4way SLI that they score as low as 5700 points in Valley (1920x1080 Extreme preset).

Seems like I will have to stick to 3D Mark and Heaven for now.

Yeah I am gonna assume its a valley issue and not a platform issue. :c its unfortunate they still haven't bothered updating Valley in so long now.

And believe it or not when I did my first ULTRA run in 3D Mark I had my CPU @ 4.5GHz. When I OCed it to 4.7GHz the benefit in the overall score was 13 points BUT in Valley that made one hell of a difference because it increased my score by almost 200 points.

I'm no expert on this stuff and the thing I'm gonna say will sound really stupid but 980 really feels like a dumbed down version of 780Ti with 4GB VRAM. Doesn't really feel powerful and unique.
