windows server is under the hood the same OS as the desktop versions:

 

- server 2003 = windows XP

- server 2008 = vista

- server 2008r2 = win7

- server 2012 = win8(.1)

- server 2016 = win10

 

the difference lies in its stripped down UI, and available featureset.

I already know what they are, I'm just asking if they made special drivers for it.

Just sayiing

2012 = win 8 and

2012r2 = win 8.1

 

it would be correct to say 

2016 = win10 ltsb 2016, but it the same now. Windows server won't get feature updates

my winserv knowledge kind of trailed off after 2008r2, i dont have the kind of old rusty box around that'll run 2008r2 happily, and i dont even think most of my old boxes would even boot into 2012 :P
