Acces point Recommendation

Hi guys,

 

so I am planning to re do my home net work from the standard ISP network and I am searching for a Acces Point under 150 Euro

 

So my planned Setup will look like this:

ISP --> Modem(Combo from ISP, which is put in Single User mode so its only a modem) --> Load Balancing Rouder (Output of Switch are only 100Mbit)--> Gigabit Switch --> Acces Point / PC/ NAS/ SERVER ...

 

Thee only thing I need is the acces point, so I am asking you guys for your recommandation, and how Improving setup, if its necessary.

I don't entirely understand your setup but from the looks of it you aren't doing anything too serious.

I personally use the Xclaim Xi-3. I Don't know if it supports zero hand off but the range is good enough that you should likely only need one

Like Jared said, check out the Ubiquiti UAPs. They have 3 models, and the UAP-AC-PRO would fite fine within your budget. As the router, I would also recommend getting an edgerouter lite. It can do 1m PPS, and is only $99 USD.

again Ubiquity (AP AC PRO) or HP's M330 WW (~230€) costs a bit more but you have Aruba hardware behind a nice white plastic cover.

The new (round) Ubiquiti AC line does not cost that much

Get the Pro, its way better than the Lite.

 

For reference though, the Lite is better than every other consumer router/AP I've ever used...
