I really really don't need to know what the whole forum posts in their status updates...

If new features are pointless/waste of space, there should be discussion on it, which is why this thread exists.

I don't have an answer, i'm just here to agree that this doesn't need to be there. scrolling each time to get to the recent topics is a bit unnerving!

Why not reserve it for friends only and place it under the recent posts section, this way it would be more appropriate.

I think it is an okay idea but I'd too prefer it below the recent topics.

Status updates are posts you mostly want to share with your friends, not everybody. That's why forum posts exits.

Well it could be a quick way to help someone out since a lot of helped is asked on this forum. Maybe for some quick tips or something instead of opening a new thread
