Cannot upload certain pictures to change/edit profile?

I'm trying to upload this picture which is a jpg for my profile picture, however, it's not working (see attached screenshot). The file is 1.1mb which is obviously much smaller than the limit. This problem only occurs for certain pictures... all are pictures taken from game screenshots which others were downloaded from the internet.

if its only some pictures

load the picture in a picture editor and slightly change its properties..then resave it

Export the image in a different format, and see if it works. Otherwise, what is the resolution of the picture?

The original picture was actually png, but I changed it to a jpg. Both png and jpg version of this file didn't work in the upload. The resolution was 1080p but the other pictures that were working were also 1080p.

Cool, I just opened up the images in paint.net and saved them again in jpg and they have worked as you can see . Thanks for the help!

Can you upload it to dropbox (or something like that), then send me the link. I want to be sure that nothing is compressing it in transit.

Alternatively, zip it and upload it here.

exactly... they are png files, and less than the limit for the file size, but somehow they are invalid.....

They are being detected as corrupt by both of the image processing libraries that can be used, which leads be to believe that there is actually something wrong with them.

I can open the files just fine though

As can I, but given that it's being rejected by two libraries, I'm inclined to think that there's something wrong with it.

Regardless, there's nothing that we can do about it, because if it is a problem with the libraries, we can't fix it.

alright thanks. Maybe there's some way to let others know if they have the same problem? To just open it up in some photo editing software and just save it again (maybe in different file type as well)

If other people have the same issue, then I might add it to the error message. However, I suspect that it's something to do with your images (whether it's that they're corrupt or just that they're not compatible), and doubt that many other people will have the same issue. We are logging failed uploads though, so we will be monitoring it.
