How long will this build last?

Clanscorpia

I need this build to last me 5-6 years, so will it last that long? And the 4690K Intel Ark page says it supports up to 1600 mhz DDR3, if I overclock will it support 1866 or higher? My mobo does.

I thought that one was good because it was 80+ Gold and fully modular, are G2 and GS psus roughly the same price?

Abit more expensive but it's worth it. It's best to do research because there's a lot more to it than just efficiency certification and modularity

it will last you as long as the components survive which can be as long as 7 plus years as long as you take care of it, for performance if you want to keep running the newest games max ettings id give it 1-2 years maybe 3, but if you dont mind turning settings down or you just continue playing the games you have now then yu will be good for as long as the pc lives, remember games that are already out wont get harder to run so it will last as long as you want it just the newer gmes that you will notice decrease in fps

I'd strongly recommend an i7-4790K or Xeon E3 1231 V3 instead of the i5 for long term PCs.  No one can guess the future, but I feel that more threads will help greater in the future than now.

For the Best builds and Price lists here is a world where many points of the price have been predefined already for your convenience!

The Xeon E3 1231 V3 IS BETTER Than the Core i5 4690K and a Significantly better value for the non-overclockers or value shoppers.

The OS is like a kind food, Try it before saying if you like it or don't.

I'm not a triple A gamer nor do I care about max settings, with my current laptop (Crappy E1-2500, 6 gigs of RAM), I play every game I have on low so I think I'll be good for a while on the settings side.

Ugh, why didn't I think of Xeons..... I wont have to spend as much on the mobo and I'll get better long term performance. Can you recommend some builds with that?

Well, after looking at some specs and reviews, I'm going towards the 4790K and I guess for longevity, you have to spend a little extra. Hoping to get 5-8 years on this machine and I think I will, probably more actually.
