AMD Hawaii, Launched in Hawaii on Sept 25

xAcid9

We just got confirmation that AMD will be launching their latest GPU codenamed Hawaii. The event will be scheduled during the week of September 23rd, and there will be a live streamed public event on the 25th that will introduce AMD's new flagship GPU to the world. Some details will be saved for a later date, however, AMD is planning to make an event out of this with some interesting details that include aircraft carriers and some more sneak previews of Battlefield 4.

And it will be bundled with Battlefield 4.

Well linus is under NDA so he can't say anything until the September 25th. I imagine with this we will start to see some more solid rumors of performance and such trickle through the rumor mill.

Actually AMD usually keeps Linus in the dark, so there.

Great find by the way , 5 stars.

Eventhough AMD is one of Linus sponsor?

They're a small sponsor of his, you don't see any videos with AMD ads on them, intel & nvidia ads dominate his content, that;s why he's extra friendly towards intel and nvidia.

Well, that's true. I guess i need to abuse AMD driver survey and ask AMD to give Linus a sample or 2.

I'd say this article is very credible because it goes hand-in-hand with what we have been told before.
When was the last time AMD made a huge event for a graphics card release ? I really can't remember, they must be really proud of their latest creation, which makes me very excited.

Yes yes I an waiting to see that 2057373728 cores phenom iv and 12 core Radeon 9970. Or was it the other way around? Nevermind, all of thst are just rumours.

I am not really waiting, this will be an evolution from current gcn architecture and not revolution. You can tell that cuz its not 20nm jump.

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

So should I get a 2007 R6 or 2 new 9970s?

R6 could kill you, 9970s will only warm your house.  :P

Hopefully they don't cost an arm and a leg....

I love my 7870's, but I'll wait and see how well the 9970 stacks up against other cards.

I would guess that this will be AMDs competitor to GK110 (Titan and 780).
