LAN disconnect on 15 minute intervals

I have complained to my ISP about random microdisconnections and their tech basically did nothing, so I come seeking the truth.

 

Tech:

Arris NVG4438

PS4

Samsung Galaxy Tab A kids edition

Minecraft as primary test (and just super fun game)

 

Symptoms:

Random microdisconnections - streaming video produces error message but is able to be immediately resumed. Happens at unknown frequency

 

Poor signal strength- often does not reach either end of our house (~30 feet in either direction

 

LAN disconnect on 15 minute intervals - occurs most often at night, can avoid some during the morning but it always matches an interval.

 

 

 

Testing: 

Testing began after disconnection from LAN appeared while hosting Minecraft on PS4.

Attempted to switch client device - unsuccessful

Attempted to switch host device - unsuccessful

Attempted to connect host via Ethernet - unsuccessful

Attempted to skip interval by not connecting until after it has passed - disconnected at next interval

Attempted to determine if internet connectivity dropped, streamed lofi hip hop from YouTube - no disconnect

Attempted to connect to external server, the HIVE - no disconnect over 3 intervals

 

LAN disconnect appears on 15 minute intervals at x:06, x:21, x:36, x:51. Any time a LAN disconnect occurs is on one of these, never at any other times. The video disconnect has not been logged as it is less regular and we've been playing a lot of Minecraft. 

After reviewing the logs there appears to be a repeated sequence at each of these intervals:

this sequence occurs every 15 minutes at the same interval that the LAN disconnects occur. 

 

Does this have anything to do with my symptoms?

is this able to be fixed without involving my useless ISP? 

How many LTT videos do I have to watch to show my gratitude for your help?

It could be the power adapter of your router / modem heating up to the point where it becomes unstable and turns off and cools down for around 5-10s and then restarts automatically and the cycle repeats forever

Could be you have some microwave running every 15m or something on the 5ghz frequency that screws with your wireless signals every 15 minutes (if it's really periodic, you can predict when it happens)

 

If it's ethernet cable, bad cable could be the reason, but really unlikely... network card drives... but again doubt it.

I'm not sure what interference there could be that would happen so consistently. It just seemed too exact to be coincidence that the LAN disconnect always happens with the periodic inform logged by the router

I set the channel to stay on 153 and have had no disconnections (that couldn't have also been caused by inactivity) since. I still experience some lag at each interval but no disconnections. Perhaps the combination of the channel swap and the routers process consuming some of our limited bandwidth created a long enough gap for the game to think I was no longer connected.
