3930K and 3000's series graphics card

bigdriver6

I will be buying one of the 3000's series cards, I have a 3930K And a ASUS Sabertooth X79. I am planning to upgrade my CPU but for the remainder of the year I will have to work with. So, I was wondering if everything would work well and I would not run into any issues or in-incompatibilities.

the white rating isn't great, it's usually an indicator of a bad quality PSU.

650W should be enough for your needs, but I'd advise upgrading to a modern good quality PSU

But temporarily it would work right? Its 80+ and I have not ran into any problems so far.

yeah, it's just not that reliable in the long run, and I'm assuming it's quite old and out of warranty as well. My advice would be to replace it when you upgrade your GPU, to avoid the risk of damaging your shiny new expensive GPU.

No. If the board has a pcie slot (which it does) it should work just fine.

Effectively isn't quality. But in this case if it's the vs then yes it's a bad PSU, though there are some decent white rated PSUs.

It will work fine, just get a new PSU.

If you play at something like 4K, I wouldn't even expect much of a bottleneck really with a 3930K.
