Hanging fan on radiator

So my 240 h100x radistor barely fits and i cant install the fan all the way in

I can only screw one screw to hold the fan up since the 8 pin cpu power cable is in the way and the only way to install the other 3 fan screws is to kill the cpu power cable and i aint feelin that

Will it be fine like that with only one screw?

Could you not fit the fans to the radiator then mount it? In your current state you won't be getting much airflow from that fan at all. You could always cut a notch in the fan frame.

My rules of thumb is at least 2 screws. If I can't do that then I zip tie or dermal some of the fan shroud off to get it to fit. if I can't do that I choose a different orientation.

Not an option in my case

Got a front 140mm fan and an hdd cage

My gpu barley fits there

The blades are not blocked from the rad its just the end of it is off to the side

Can't dermal space off the fan where the cpu power would be touching?

Then I would use double sided tape.

I just mount the fan first then smash the 8pin.  Could always slot them holes at the top so it can slide over a bit.

Somehow remove that corner of the fan frame. A dremel/rotary tool would be optimal, though you could probably use a drill + metal cutting clippers. Hopefully it would fit like that. Maybe route the 8pin from the front so it has more wiggleroom.

Na its tye cabke of the 8 pin

With my old psu i put presure on the cables cause i didnt really care it was just for a month but with my new psu i dont want to kill a cable and since i am replacing the cpu,mb and ram theres no point to cut the fan

Maybe with the new case ill cut the corner if needed

I had this same issue 2 weeks ago on a build, had to use 12mm thick fans in order to have it fit with the 8pin CPU socket.

Will it work?  Long as it doesn't rattle then it will be just fine imho

EDIT (pro tip, google this) you can also, to ensure no airflow escapes use duct tape to seal the gap between rad and fan so no air is escaping and being forced straight through the rad.

Jayz did a video on this years ago, I tried it for fun - it works (I sealed everything with tape, including AIO)
