Looking for the best 600+ watt power supply for my build. Price doesn't really matter but don't get too crazy (anything over $150馃憥)

Personally, I'm a stickler for EVGA graphics cards and power supplies, but there are quite a few decent options out there. I'd start by looking through the PSU Tier list post, as it offers an extremely comprehensive overview of different tiers of PSUs among various brands.

The high end Corsair stuff is pretty good (HXi, RMi, AXi), but there are many other quality options as well. But often something like a Corsair RMx is more than suitable and still a very good PSU.

Remember higher wattage and "better" efficiency does not automatically mean the PSU is any good, only those made with quality components and proper assembly are actually any good. There are many 600W+ 80+ Platinum/Gold聽PSU's that are poorly and cheaply made, often barely meeting the certification levels they are marketed at.聽

Refer to the PSU tier list linked in my signature as guidance, I recommend Tier B+ or higher is possible.聽

For the budget something like a Corsair RMx 650W is perfect. They also come with 10 years of warranty.聽

Aside from the tier list, is the RM550 good from Corsair?

Yes, though the RM is slightly worse than the RMx due to replacing the more expensive Japanese capacitors with cheaper Chinese Elite capacitors and a 140mm Hong Hua fan instead of the NR135L. Not sure if anything else is different between the RM and the RMx, but if you can find the RMx at a similar price (think $5-10 difference, any more and I would just go with the RM), I would go with that instead.

Basically, yes the RM550 is perfectly fine.

The RM550 is a discontinued PSU from about 7 years ago, so no.

The RM 2019 series starts at 650W. There is no RM550 2019.

What are your specs? Since you're looking for >600W, I'm guessing 2080 Ti + a high core count CPU? Maybe custom loop water cooling?

For that a 550w will be fine.聽
