Can I use these fans with my motherboard?

I'm gonna be using the x470 gaming plus max and was about to order some uphere fans 5v pvm argb https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07HP21B6X/ref=crt_ewc_title_huc_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A16G2RYKO3IO8J but I'm not sure if I can use them with this motherboard. It says compatible with msi on the photos but I can't see the header with 3 pins that it seems to use. Could anyone please let me know if my motherboard has that 3pin header or if the fans can use a 4 pin header? :) my first build btw

4 pin headers are fine with 3 pin fans

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

 

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

I think theyre 12v headers but the fans are 5v though :/

that setup comes with a controller, you plug the rgb part into the header for that on your mb (but only certain configurations will work.   There is also power for the controller and then the fans themselves run off of the controller

I don't think the motherboard has the 3 pin 5v header so I'm not sure how much you can really do with mystic light sync then :(

Yup that motherboard does not. I know 2 people who had the non max version and 1 ended up swapping boards because it didn't have 5V 3pin ARGB. Solid board otherwise. The MAX version just has a newer bios iirc.

 

Also just took a look at product photos and they don't seem to be there.
 

That being said the fans you have linked seem to come with an ARGB controller which is controlled by buttons on it and likely powered by SATA or maybe Molex from your psu.

thanks for the reply. are you saying that the rgb would work? I think there is a power cable and rgb cable that come from the controller so what would the rgb cable go into?

The RGB cable goes nowhere. There should be simple buttons on the controller for you to switch between colors and modes.

I guess if I want to get rgb fans I need to get non addressable rgb. Can you still use mystic light software to control the lights with 4 pin rgb?

Could you let me know of any 120mm fans that use the 4-pin 12v rgb header I'm struggling to find any. (preferably not too expensive :))
