Might be an old question about RAM and Ryzen 7 3rd GEN

My current PC is dated and is still using a Ryzen 3 1300X with 2666MHz RAM. If i upgrade to a Ryzen 7 3700X, will it run with my current RAM? I know that the CPU says 3200MHz RAM, which I can't afford right now. Can I run that CPU with my current RAM speed until I can save to buy 32GB of 3200? Any help or advice would be really helpful. I haven't built or upgraded a PC solo in a LONG time.

Not sure where the 3700X "says" 3200, most people recommend it but it's not required for the CPU to work. You could also overclock your current ram (if you didn't cheap out and get an A320 motherboard) to improve performance.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Thanks to all that have replied. I have decided to upgrade to a Ryzen 5 3600X and upgrade my RAM to 16GB 3200MHz for the same price. This was always a budget build anyway. My mobo is an ASUS ROG Strix B350-f GAMING, btw.

Thank you all
